Operating remotely with a strong engineering base in the Cologne region , our teams deliver robust, safety-critical software that keeps clean energy systems running at peak performance. To strengthen our test & validation capabilities, we’re looking for a Software Test Engineer who’s ready to have real impact in the fight against climate change.

Your Role

  • Test and validate automation software used in solar and wind energy systems - both in simulation and on live data streams.
  • Ensure stable integration between control software , remote sensors , edge devices , and cloud-based monitoring platforms .
  • Design and execute robust test scenarios for extreme conditions like outages, load surges, and environmental anomalies.
  • Create and maintain structured test documentation and contribute to process improvements around release quality.
  • Collaborate with developers, product engineers, and field ops teams across Europe and North America.

Your Background

  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, energy systems, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with software or system-level testing - ideally in automation, IoT, or industrial control contexts.
  • Familiar with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and version control tools like Git .
  • Knowledge of protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, or OPC UA is a plus .
  • Structured thinker with a problem-solving mindset and an interest in renewable tech.
  • Strong German or English required; both preferred.
