Freelance Data Engineer – AWS & Snowflake – 12 Month Contract

I am supporting a leading Fintech company based in Berlin who are expanding their Data Engineering capabilities and are looking for a Freelance Data Engineer with expertise in AWS and Snowflake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL / ELT processes using AWS services and Snowflake.
  • Integrate large-scale data from various payment platforms, APIs, and internal systems.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts, Scientists, and Product teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.
  • Manage Snowflake data warehouse operations including performance tuning, role-based access, and automation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer working with AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, etc.) and Snowflake in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or another scripting language).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data lake architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI / CD practices for data and infrastructure deployment.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance in financial services environments is a plus.
