As a leading European analyst company focusing on Identity & Access Management (IAM), Cybersecurity, and Digital Transformation, we are looking for an energetic (Senior) Research Analyst with excellent writing skills to complement our team of Analysts.

In this role, you will support our Research Team by analysing vendors, products, and trends in the field of IAM, digital / decentralized identity as well as cybersecurity and in creating independent research documents and presentations. If you are digital native and have a knowledge in these fields, if you are strong in researching and analysing information out of a variety of sources, if you are capable of translating complex themes into focused reports and presentations, targeting business and IT decision makers, if you are a good speaker and your English is excellent in speaking and writing – then you are the right person for KuppingerCole.

Your responsibilities

  • Quantitative and qualitative research across IAM, CIAM, IGA, PAM, Zero Trust Architectures, Endpoint / Network / XDR security, OT / ICS security, and cloud security
  • Analyzing policy landscapes including GDPR, CCPA, PSD2 / 3, NIS2, and DORA
  • Track emerging threats including identity-centric attack vectors and adversary tradecraft using MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND, and ATLAS frameworks
  • Guide enterprise strategy through maturity assessments, architectural gap analyses, and security posture evaluations
  • Evaluate vendor ecosystems and contribute to KuppingerCole's renowned Leadership Compass and Buyer's Compass publications
  • Moderate expert panels and lead thought leadership discussions
  • Present at premier events including KuppingerCole conferences, webinars, and external industry forums

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s or advanced degree a plus
  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, IAM, or identity-driven security architecture
  • Proven track record evaluating technology vendors and conducting RFI / RFP processes
  • Strong analytical writing for both technical practitioners and C-level executives
  • Independent work style with ability to manage complex projects end-to-end
  • Identity Protocols : Deep knowledge of SAML, OIDC, OAuth2, and Rego
  • Security Frameworks : Working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK, NIST SP 800-207 (Zero Trust), NIST SP 800-53, NIST CSF, FedRAMP, CIS Controls
  • Authentication Technologies : MFA, FIDO passkeys, risk-adaptive authentication
  • Governance Models : RBAC, ABAC / PBAC, IGA, identity fabrics
  • Security Standards : CVE, STIX, YARA for cybersecurity; ISO 27001 / 27017, CSA Cloud Controls Matrix
  • Industry Standards (Preferred) : HIPAA, NERC CIP, PCI DSS experience valued
  • Excellent English written and oral / presentation skills at level C1 or higher
  • Strong ability to research
  • Readiness to travel
