We are looking for a COBOL Developer (m / f / d) for our IT & Digital Competence Center in Mannheim or Fürth.

Your Tasks

Further development of our existing applications to optimize the COBOL processes and system landscape
Analysis of customer requirements and creation of a development concept
Development and maintenance of applications with a focus on WMS (order picking, inventory, stock bookings)
Support for our users in our European branches as part of 3rd level support
Evaluation and establishment of new technologies to continuously optimize our development tools
Leading discussions on technical solutions to solve complex technical challenges in the mainframe area.

Your Profile

Degree in (business) informatics or comparable sound IT training

Knowledge and experience in software development using COBOL on mainframe environments (IBM z / VSE 6.2, CICS / TS 1.1.1, COBOL FOR VSE / ESA 1.1. 1, VSAM) or many years of COBOL experience

Longterm experience in software programming in the WMS environment (stock bookings, picking, inventory processes) are an advantage

Strong analytical skills, independent, structured and quality-oriented way of working

Ability to coordinate and strong understanding of user needs

Good written and spoken German and English skills

Good knowledge of software architecture and enterprise frameworks.

Assembler knowledge is an advantage
