Summary of the Role :
In the role of Corporate Counsel, you will assist with all legal matters required by the business the company and its affiliated companies in Germany including corporate governance and commercial contracts . You will also act as an advisory body and provide the necessary legal advice for new products and services for the Company, advising on legal requirements, amendments to general terms and conditions and provide German law guidance in relation to group-wide projects. The ability to work effectively in English is essential.
What role will you play?
- You will participate as a member of an effective European legal team, supporting the German business, its various business segments and affiliates, including corporate decisions and filings. You will ensure that the legal needs of the company are taken into account
- You will use your legal expertise to advise and support the company on strategic, business and legal needs
- You will review analyses, draft and negotiate legal documents and manage the legal aspects of agreements and contract negotiations with partners, clients and vendors
- You will advise internal stakeholders. You will maintain and update standard contract templates to take account of compliance requirements, industry changes and identified risks
- You will advise on new products and services to ensure organizational readiness and compliance with laws, regulations and contractual obligations. This will involve attending design and project management meetings.
- You will draft new contracts and amendments to existing contracts in support of an operational readiness plan
Who are we looking for this role?
Minimum requirements
Law (doctorate) degree from a recognised law school (including all other necessary requirements for admission to the Bar) and maintenance of qualification and admission throughout the period of employment6 years of relevant professional experience, experience in an in-house role is preferable, including advising and negotiation skillsThe ability to manage and prioritize multiple projectsPreferred qualifications
