An international financial institution, active in the management of debt portfolios across Europe, is seeking a Head of Legal to lead all legal matters related to its Luxembourg operations.
This regulated, publicly listed entity is firmly established in over 10 countries and plays a key role in the acquisition and restructuring of non-performing loans (NPL), working closely with banks, financial institutions, and institutional investors.
The position offers direct exposure to strategic decision-making and close collaboration with the Group's investment, compliance, and governance teams.
Head of Legal - Your Responsibilities :
- Provide legal advice on general Luxembourg law matters (corporate law, contract law, banking and financial law, governance).
- Support portfolio acquisition operations and mergers & acquisitions projects.
- Draft, negotiate, and review transactional legal documents (NDAs, term sheets, acquisition contracts, LOIs, T&Cs, etc.).
- Coordinate legal interactions with Group teams, local operations, investment departments, and support functions.
- Prepare legal analyses for the investment committee or Board.
- Manage external legal service providers and supervise the quality of their services.
- Actively participate in cross-functional projects (compliance, audits, risk management).
Head of Legal - Profile Sought :
University degree in LawMinimum 7 years of relevant experience in business law in Luxembourg, either in a law firm or in-house (finance, asset management, debt recovery companies).Strong knowledge of Luxembourg's legal framework.Experience in transactions (M&A, portfolio acquisitions) or within the NPL environment.Fluency in English is essential; French is a plus.Detail-oriented and autonomous, with a strong sense of priorities and solid communication skills.Head of Legal - What We Offer :
