Ihre Aufgaben

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for legged robotic systems, including chassis, sensor mounts, drivetrain mechanisms, and protective enclosures

Optimise existing designs for series production, taking into account all the relevant constraints and inputs (product requirements, industrial design, user experience, target COGS, etc.)

Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using CAD software (e.g., Fusion360 or Autodesk Inventor)

Work closely with engineers to fabricate and test prototypes, ensuring mechanical designs meet performance, durability, and safety requirements

Perform stress analysis, weight optimization, and durability testing to improve the performance and reliability of mechanical designs

Work closely with electrical and software teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems

Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, part specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs)

Ihr Profil

Completed degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field

At least 5 years of experience working on robotics systems, mobile machinery, or similar products

Proven experience designing complex mechanical systems, and solid knowledge of robot kinematics, mechanical and electrical components, and the integration of these components into a robotics system

Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques to ensure manufacturability for mid and high volume manufacturing

Ideally, you have already completed a full product lifecycle with another hardware product, and have a deep understanding of the design process, as well as a passion for getting hands-on building and troubleshooting prototypes

Experience with relevant CAD programmes (particularly, Autodesk Fusion / Eagle)

Proven experience working with suppliers and designing hardware products for manufacturing
