This position is in Cargills food and bioindustrialbusiness where manufacturers retailers and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Process Automation Engineer will apply technical expertise to develop standards applications and solutions that enhance production quality efficiency and output at our site with a focus on process automation and related application software. In this role you will support automation engineering projects and collaborate with the electrical / instrumentation teams to strengthen our capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply principles and best practices of automation engineering to design and implement safereliable processes.
  • Coordinate support and execute process automation tasks (software and hardware) in alignment with internal and industry standards including documentation updates (e.g. FUPs URS FDS P&IDs).
  • Lead or support small-scale capital projects and contribute to larger automation engineering initiatives.
  • Monitor and support project progress ensuring that process control and automation aspects are clearly defined and aligned with business and cost objectives.
  • Identify implement and track process improvements by applying relevant industry standards.
  • Maintain the operation of installed automation equipment and its infrastructure including connected systems.
  • Participate in on-call support rotations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience with process automation software and hardware in chemical production or a similar environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex system issues.
  • Solid technical and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficiency in German and good command of English.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards principles and techniques related to process control systems (e.g. PCS7 or similar platforms).
