We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supplier Developer to join our team and support a key client in the automotive sector. This role focuses on the development and management of suppliers specialising in castings and mechanical components , ensuring quality, delivery, and performance standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and a deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead supplier development activities for castings and mechanical components, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
- Implement and manage APQP processes across the supplier base, from concept through to production.
- Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and risk evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and procurement to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Support suppliers in continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action plans.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and drive improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
- Facilitate technical reviews and support PPAP submissions.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in supplier development within the automotive industry, specifically with castings and mechanical components.Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans.Familiarity with automotive quality standards and manufacturing processes.Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both English and German.Willingness to travel within Europe as required.
