Your main activities in this position
As a Requirements Engineer at Cubonic, you will play a critical role in translating user needs, legal requirements, and technical constraints into structured, traceable system and component requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, project management, quality, and vehicle domain experts, to ensure a consistent requirements baseline across vehicle maturity levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and structure stakeholder, legal, and market requirements for vehicle systems and modules
- Develop and maintain a hierarchical requirements architecture using Jama tool
- Ensure traceability of requirements
- Collaborate with system architects and domain engineers to ensure feasibility and testability
- Lead and facilitate requirements reviews with cross-functional teams
- Manage versioning, baselining, and change control processes in alignment with project milestones
- Support functional safety and homologation activities by linking requirements to standards (e.g., ISO 26262, UN / ECE)
- Contribute to validation & verification planning in collaboration with testing team

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields2+ years of experience in requirements engineering in the automotive, rail, aerospace, or embedded systems industryFamiliarity with structured requirements methodologiesExperience with at least one requirements management toolStrong understanding of vehicle development processesExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailFluency in English is required; German is a plusPreferred Qualifications
Knowledge of automotive safety and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 26262, UNECE R155 / R156)Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product development environmentWorking at Cubonic
