About the role :

Are you a passionate leader looking for a challenge that truly makes a difference? As the Site Operations / (Direct Distribution Center) Director for our main distribution centre in Sevenum, you will spearhead our biggest logistics operations. This isn’t just a role—it’s your opportunity to redefine what operational excellence looks like. With responsibility for a team of over 1,100 employees, you will lead with purpose, innovate with precision, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will set the standard for success in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

About your tasks :

  • Leadership and Development : Lead and mentor a diverse team of over 1,100 employees, including department leads, shift managers, team leaders, and operational staff, fostering growth and development at every level.
  • Oversee Daily Operations Across Shifts : Plan and coordinate staffing requirements, set productivity targets, and ensure their achievement through close collaboration with department leads and their teams.
  • Process Optimization : Conduct thorough analyses of logistics workflows, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as SLAs, turnaround times, and cost per order, and drive continuous improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Support Organizational Growth : Anticipate and address growth demands by utilizing forecasts for proactive planning. Spearhead capacity planning and efficiency initiatives to support scalable site operations.
  • Strategic Collaboration : Partner with senior leadership to implement long-term logistics strategies, ensuring alignment with future business objectives and growth demands.

About you :

  • Leadership Skills : You have experience in leading a large logistics site or as an operations manager at a logistics facility.
  • E-Commerce Experience : Ideally, you have worked in a similar role within e-commerce and understand the unique demands of this dynamic sector.
  • Strategic and Operational Thinking : You excel in both daily operational tasks and strategic thinking, with the ability to plan and develop the site continuously.
  • Team Player with Decision-Making Ability : You lead your team with empathy and assertiveness, make clear decisions, and set an example through your actions.
  • Language Skills : You are fluent in English and German to communicate effectively in our international environment. Dutch language skills are not required but would be an advantage.
