Hauptaufgaben
Works directly under the guidance of 39th Transportation Battalion S3 Operations and / or the Battalion Senior Traffic Manager. The incumbent plans, coordinates and controls all US military movements requiring Host Nation approval, which originates, transits, or terminates in Germany. Receives advanced information on alert, maneuvers, and field exercises, and serves as the Liaison Officer for all unclassified matters in relation to Transportation and Logistics between German and US Forces requiring movement coordination of US Forces military traffic within Germany. Receives requests for highway clearance from Movement Control Teams (MCT) Branch Movement Control Teams and trucking companies assigned under 39th Transportation Battalion. Analyzes all requests with particular emphasis on critical points, road and bridge capacities, tunnel height and width limits, and other restrictions affecting clearance of the movement. Evaluates and determines escort requirements and arranges for military police and civil police escorts in such a manner that conflicts in jurisdiction do not occur. Reschedules and / or re-routes convoys in order to conform to military necessity, US Forces and civilian safety requirements and to preclude conflict with other NATO highway movements by coordinating and monitoring movements with appropriate US and host nation traffic regulating and traffic control personnel. Maintains liaison with civilian and military police and transporters in order to ensure safe and rapid movements. Represents US Forces interest in joint meetings with German Army specialists in planning field exercises and participates in staff meetings of Bundeswehr and civil agencies when US Forces interest are involved. In dealing with Bundeswehr authorities, host nation local traffic authorities, and US military officials, must be able to converse in German as well as English. Provides up to date information to US units regarding military regulations and civil law provisions and road construction limitations, and is held fully responsible for the accuracy of all guidance.

C-07 :
E&T Level I : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II : 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III : 4 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV : 3 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level V : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A : Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B : Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.
English Language Proficiency Level B2 and German Language Proficiency Level B2 required.
