Experience working in Private Equity–backed businesses, ideally within mid-market or upper mid-market portfolios. Strong strategic and operational background, with a hands-on approach to execution. Expertise in value creation planning, cost optimisation, operational excellence, and digital transformation. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels. Fluent in English ; German language skills are essential. Willingness to be based in or travel regularly across Germany.
We are working with a German Private Equity investor, who are seeking an experienced Transformation Director to lead the company’s value creation agenda through operational, digital, and organisational change. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving performance improvement initiatives across the business, working closely with the executive team and the PE sponsor to deliver accelerated growth, margin expansion, and sustainable operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall business transformation programme, aligning strategic objectives with operational execution.
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and PE stakeholders to define and deliver key value creation levers.
- Drive performance improvement across key functions including operations, supply chain, commercial, and finance.
- Oversee programme governance, ensuring milestones, KPIs, and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Lead digital and technology enablement initiatives to modernise business systems and data capabilities.
- Build and manage cross-functional project teams, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage external consultants and partners to ensure delivery quality and alignment with strategic goals.
- Provide regular updates and progress reporting to the Board and Private Equity investors.
Key Requirements
