We are seeking a Technical Assistant (m / f / d) for sugar beet resistance breeding as part of a replacement.

This position is to be filled as soon as possible in full-time with a permanent contract and to be based in Einbeck, Lower-Saxony, Germany.

Your Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct practical breeding work from seedling cultivation to seed harvest.
  • Support field and greenhouse trials, including scoring and labor organization.
  • Organize and conduct hand cross programs in the field and greenhouse.
  • Assist with resistance tests in the field and greenhouse.
  • Prepare and take samples for marker analysis and perform data analysis on the computer.
  • Manage data by entering, maintaining, and processing it in MS Office and databases.
  • Combine computer work with hands-on plant handling.

Your Qualifications :

  • Vocational training as a plant technologist, agricultural technician, or similar qualification.
  • Experience in practical plant breeding.
  • General understanding of breeding and genetics.
  • Good computer skills (especially MS Office) and ideally experience with breeding databases (IBIS, ACCESS).
  • Proficiency in German is required; English is desirable.
  • You are known for your flexibility; your ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A class B driver’s license or willingness to acquire one promptly.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally during the season.
