The DFG Emmy Noether Research Group “” at the IPK studies the mechanisms of barley stem growth and grain yield determination.

Your tasks :

Morphological and anatomical analysis of stems in a diverse barley panel
Planning, supervising and analyzing large-scale RNA-seq data
Characterizing genes for barley stem growth and yield performance using GWAS and map-based cloning
Presenting and publishing results in conferences and scientific journals

Your qualifications and skills :

You have a PhD in plant biology, agricultural science or any related fields.

You have a strong background in plant genetics and architectural development.

You are familiar with plant tissue sectioning or microscopy (confocal, fluorescence, stereomicroscope).

Basic knowledge of bioinformatic pipelines and workflows such as R and Linux are strong pluses.

You fit to us :
