Job Summary :
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at CSA Group. A Laboratory Engineer (m / f / d) is required to join our team to work on the testing of hazardous location (HAZLOC) equipment. This role will be based in our upcoming state of the art new facility in Plattling, Germany.
The Position :

Responsibilities :
- Assumes total responsibility for the completion of assigned projects within negotiated time and cost schedules.
- Conducts a wide range of test procedures on sample equipment to the applicable standards and interprets results of the test. Determines or works with Certifier confirming which tests are required; the order in which to perform tests and the number of samples required. Performs tests and calculations, compiles data and summarizes test results into test reports. Verifies calculations are consistent with results of measurements. Determines whether product passes or fails subject to review by Certifier.
- Assembles and disassembles test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing; operates most laboratory test equipment without supervision.
- Notes and records substandard features of products which may appear before or during the tests and refer them to Product Group Manager, Laboratory Manager or Certifier.
- Maintains good housekeeping of tools, equipment and work area following tests and carry out assigned laboratory clean-up duties.
- Responsible for follow-up for any non-conformances as a result of calibration, with guidance from supervisor.
- Responsible for the integrity of customer samples while in the laboratory as per company procedures.
- Interacts with jobholder / certifier to plan activities, exchange information, review and approve lab reports.
- May make field trips and assist in work outside the laboratories as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Processes paperwork jobs from opening to distribution where no engineering is involved (i.e. alternative construction, change of records and multiple listings) if required.
