Tasks Core Roles and Responsibilities : Operational Oversight : Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, beer, and cocktail bar, including operational readiness, staff management, inventory control, and customer service. Staff Management : Recruit, train, and supervise cafe and bar staff, ensuring high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service. Financial Management : Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and implement strategies to maximise revenue and minimise costs. Inventory Management : Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal levels. Customer Relations : Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Menu Development : Collaborate with management and staff to develop and update menu offerings, ensuring they align with customer preferences and market trends. Compliance : Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and alcohol service laws, maintaining a safe and legal environment for patrons and staff. Marketing and Promotion : Contribute to marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and increase sales. Quality Control : Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service. Requirements Required Skills and Abilities : Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Financial acumen, with the ability to analyse financial data, develop budgets, and make informed business decisions. Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to oversee multiple aspects of the business simultaneously. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities. Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business. Knowledge of coffee, beer, and cocktail culture preferred, with a passion for providing exceptional hospitality experiences. Qualifications and Key Features of the Role : Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe, bar, or restaurant setting. A bachelor's degree or industry training in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a track record of driving results and achieving business objectives. Ability to lead by example, setting high standards for customer service, professionalism, and performance. Understanding of local regulations and laws governing the operation of cafes, bars, and restaurants.
