Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will take the lead in driving the sales of Continuous Water Analyzers (CWA) for the Business Line Analytical Europe within ABB's Measurement & Analytics Division. Your success will be built on a combination of strategic industry insight and consultative application development, where you'll establish ABB Analytical products and services as the preferred choice for customers. You will collaborate closely with ABB's sales partners, sales teams, and service teams, demonstrating both commercial and technical expertise to lead impactful sales efforts. You will be empowered to identify and pursue growth opportunities, shaping sales strategies and working with other ABB Sales Managers on planning and execution efforts. Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, sales partners, and support teams will be key to your success, ensuring long-term value for all stakeholders. As part of your role, you'll focus on identifying market opportunities and executing tailored sales strategies, while actively managing sales funnels in Salesforce to ensure you meet your sales objectives. You'll also contribute to preparing strategic proposals, determining technical and contractual strategies that align with ABB's goals. In addition, you will provide valuable market feedback and collaborate with internal teams to create unique business opportunities, carefully assessing the commercial viability of products and the resources required to bring them to life. Key responsibilities : - Define, develop, and execute strategies and business plans for focus segments and applications in identified markets, in collaboration with local sales and marketing teams and global product lines. These efforts align with the overall business line strategy to achieve defined targets. - Drive top-line growth for the Business Line Analytical Europe and within each target industry segment, ensuring sustainable development. - Maintain opportunity sales funnels in Salesforce to meet or exceed sales objectives, providing transparency and accountability in the sales process. - Leverage operational intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, market practices, product gaps, and competitor strategies, creating actionable insights. - Understand and monitor relevant regulations and standards in target market segments, ensuring sales units are equipped with critical information to capture new business opportunities. - Map market requirements and opportunities to concrete actions for ABB, coordinating with Business Line teams, sales units, and other key groups such as Group / Strategic Account teams and OEM teams for effective implementation. - Drive sales development efforts in collaboration with sales partners and ABB teams to accelerate the growth of the Continuous Water Analyzer (CWA) portfolio. - Develop and communicate ABB's value proposition for each target segment effectively, ensuring consistent messaging both internally and externally. - Reinforce ABB's market visibility by coordinating with the Marketing Communication team to strengthen segment-focused communication, participating in key customer events, and representing ABB at trade fairs. - Prioritize and support major accounts within target segments, building and maintaining strong senior-level relationships with key stakeholders. - Lead selective sales efforts in close collaboration with local sales teams, focusing on strategic customers and projects. This includes participating in or leading the negotiation of international legal and commercial frame agreements. - Regularly provide feedback to the Business Line on market developments and requirements to ensure ABB remains ahead of industry trends and customer expectations.

Qualifications for the role

  • To be successful in this role, you bring at least 5 years of Sales leadership experience, preferably in a large global or regional business environment. You bring multi-year, hands-on experience with Continuous Water Analyzers, including pH, Conductivity, DO, Turbidity, Colorimetric, and ISE, making you highly skilled in this specialized field.
  • You bring a proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, delivering measurable results in an international environment. Your strong business acumen, industrial market experience, and customer-centric approach enable you to navigate complex markets effectively and drive success.
  • You are recognized as a strong team player, bringing a collaborative spirit and a commitment to shaping and supporting a diverse and inclusive culture. Your fluency in verbal and written English ensures seamless communication and engagement in global settings.
  • You bring a passion for innovation, problem-solving, and fostering relationships, underpinned by advanced skills in strategic sales methodologies tailored to the industrial sector. Your extensive knowledge of industrial sales strategies and your ability to deliver impactful outcomes are critical to excelling in this role.
