The group investigates the evolution and adaptation of crops, with a focus on how these processes shape genetic diversity in domesticated plants and their wild progenitors. Our research centres on cereal and legume species, making use of the extensive germplasm collections maintained in the German national genebank. A core area of our work is the pangenomics of cultivated legumes and their wild relatives.

Your tasks :

• Assembling and analyzing faba bean and pea genomes.
• Connecting sequence variation to phenotypic diversity.
• Exploring the use of novel approaches to make pangenomes accessible, such as pangenome graphs.
