This role reports directly to the CEO in case of escalation, and for resources and accountability. It is fully empowered to access all company information - both ashore and onboard - ensuring smooth and effective investigations. • Conduct fleet incident investigations per company procedures.
• Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are meaningful and sustainable.
• Promote organizational learning to enhance loss prevention.
• Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders.
• Lead diverse investigation teams and manage related resources.
• Collaborate with QHSE, Fleet Management, Crewing, and Procurement functions.
• Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders and review the progress.
• Work with Training & HR to address training-related CAPAs.
• Use investigations as a learning and development opportunity for team members, wherever possible.
• Foster a learning culture and support team development.
• Maritime industry-related academic degree e.g., Nautical Science, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering
• At least 2 years of sailing experience in senior ranks and / or shore-based experience in a senior ship management position
• Minimum 3 years of experience in QHSSE, Human & Organizational Performance, or a related field
• Proven experience in incident investigation and familiarity with established methodologies e.g., Kelvin TOP-SET, TapRooT
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management principles (ISO 9000 series)
• Advanced understanding of humanities, risk management, safety engineering, and systems thinking
• Auditing experience is an advantage
• Willingness to travel
