Java Software Engineer - Mission Support Systems (f / m / d)

As a Java Software Engineer, you design, implement, and test mission support system software across the full development lifecycle. You ensure high‑quality, secure solutions and collaborate closely in an agile environment. If you enjoy building robust systems for aerospace applications, we'd love to meet you.

Aufgaben

  • Perform software engineering tasks across the full development lifecycle, including design, implementation, unit testing, and integration testing
  • Take responsibility for software and interface design, considering feasibility, reusability, maintainability, safety, performance, and IT security
  • Ensure compliance with applicable software and aircraft development standards
  • Actively embrace agile methodologies, drive process improvements, and contribute to automation
  • Foster collaboration within the project team and with all involved stakeholders

Profil

  • Master's degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent qualification
  • At least 3 years of aerospace experience
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on development experience in object‑oriented programming (preferably in aerospace or defense)
  • Ideally experience with the Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) and threat / sensor analysis
  • English at negotiation level; German skills preferred
  • Knowledge of GIS systems or military applications
  • Strong understanding of modern Java ecosystem technologies and practical experience applying them
  • Proficiency with source code management systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Strong skills in UML, object‑oriented design, and design patterns
