The focus of this position is on distributed AI for mobility use cases such as object detection or movement prediction. Distributed AI means that data is held locally which leads to privacy aware AI. Recent progress in federated learning has shown that distributed AI can be highly competitive and furthermore enables local customization or personalization.

The main goal of this research position is to design apply and validate distributed AI algorithms on vehicle data and contribute to leadingedge research.

The main objectives are :

• Conduct research that is related to vehicle data analysis using latest distributed AI technology
• Contribute to the project with demonstrators and evaluation in collaboration with the project partners
• Discuss results with DENSOinternal R&D teams to collect feedback and help applying project results in product development and related research

This Ph.D. position is limited in time and supports the enrollment in the doctoral program of the Technical University of Munich.
