Region NCE > Customer Project Execution, NCE > Contract Management Central & East
The CPX (Customer Project Execution) department is responsible for the project management of all wind farm projects from the start of the contract to completion. The team will take responsibility for a wind farm after the contract has been signed and will remain responsible until the final tests have been completed. Working closely with the logistics, procurement, and finance departments, the project team ensures that the project stays on budget and on schedule, and that our safety and quality standards are met. In addition, the project team works closely with the sales and legal departments to ensure that each wind farm delivers the highest energy yield within the customer specification.
Responsibilities
Contract management safeguards Vestas' commercial interests during the construction phase. During the construction phase of new wind farms, we take on core tasks and support the project team with proactive and constant advice and recommendations on commercial and contractual issues related to the implementation of a project in terms of safety, quality, time and budget. For individual construction projects, Contract Management provides direct contract management support to the project team. The Contract Manager also ensures coordination with internal departments, including the legal and financial departments, sales and bid management.
Area of responsibility
- Commercial and contractual support during the construction phase of new wind farms, including advising internal stakeholders on turbine supply contracts
- Enforcing claims against clients and subcontractors as well as conducting negotiations with these parties
- Ensuring compliance with internal processes in the creation, filing and documentation of correspondence and records
- Responsibility for claims management, including assessment of potential damage scenarios, derivation of recommendations and writing formal letters
- Contribution to risk management (ONS) through identification and assessment of contractual risks
- Capture and analyze contract-related insights to help optimize and evolve contract structures
- Working closely with internal stakeholders and management to ensure effective implementation of contractual obligations
Qualifications
- Academic degree in law or business law (Bachelor's, Master's or Diploma)
- at least 7 years of professional experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts
- Sound knowledge of construction and energy contracts, preferably with experience in power plant projects (FIDIC or EPCI is an advantage)
- Language skills: Fluent in German and English, both oral and written
- Willingness to travel of up to % as well as pronounced cost and security awareness
- Strong methodological, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as a structured, independent way of working
- Ability to work in a team, intercultural understanding and very good communication skills at all levels – internally and externally
