Mechanical Process Engineer (m / f / x) Curved Graphene Purification

We deliver high power and high energy storage solutions across industries, including the automotive, aerospace, industrial, and renewables sectors.

As Synthesis Operator and the newest addition to the Curved Graphene Scale-up Team, you will be part of our chemical production team in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, where we are setting up a pilot-scale production of curved graphene. You will be able to leverage your experience from previous piloting or scale-up processes, while also further developing your existing skills and gaining new ones.

You will be assigned the following tasks :

  • Responsible engineer for various sections of the Curved Graphene production process
  • Contribute and take charge of the CG purification process and equipment further development – equipment suppliers, production systems, working methods etc.
  • Technically responsible for equipment construction quality monitoring, commissioning, and ramp-up.
  • Responsible for standard operating procedure compiling and training of production staff.
  • Technically responsible for establishing and documenting standard material process specifications in the existing pilot facility. Implementing the process in industrial-scale treatment equipment.
  • Operation phase : Responsible for process management and optimisation in the material production block of the plant; Establishing, monitoring and reporting the purification process KPIs; Technical training; Technically responsible, reliable and economical purification process, supporting the maintenance team for minimising production downtimes

Requirements

You are a good fit for the team if you can tick off the following boxes

  • 5 years or more experience with chemical process industry equipment, high-temperature processes or active powder material treatment.
  • Experience in powder handling and production is highly preferred.
  • Chemical, Process, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
  • Working knowledge of industry codes, standards and practices relevant to process design and safety
  • Proven track record in design of operational safety concepts, improvement of existing processes and value engineering.
  • Knowledge of explosion safety in chemical plants (ATEX or similar) would be a plus.
  • Experience with toxic chemicals such as Chlorine gas and HCl would be a plus.
  • Proficient technical report writing skills.
  • Production equipment design – basic knowledge of safe materials, methods, and tools involved in handling high-temperature and flammable process conditions is preferred.
  • Experience working with industry software, such as solid works
  • Participation in chemical plant construction projects is highly preferred.
  • Fluent English skills, German skills highly preferred.
