Our client is a global fintech at the forefront of digital payments and financial innovation. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, they are committed to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and to strengthen their international Privacy & Data Protection function, they are seeking an experienced Data Protection Lawyer to join their growing legal team in Germany.

In this role, you will :

• Respond to ad-hoc privacy queries from across the organisation and undertake risk assessments as necessary
• Oversee the company’s Records of Processing Activities (ROPA)
• Advise on security incidents and data breaches
• Support the regulatory function in responding to data protection and other regulatory queries, as well as third-party data requests
• Advise on data subject rights requests and complaints
• Monitor and interpret emerging trends, new legislation, case law, and regulatory guidance, advising on potential risks and developing mitigating actions
• Update and maintain the organisation’s suite of privacy notices, cookie policies, and consent forms
• Assist with the review and negotiation of Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
• Update intra-group data processing and sharing agreements
• Collaborate with the compliance function to identify and close compliance gaps
• Contribute to the development of privacy and data protection policies through engagement with regulators, industry groups, and public consultations
