Strategic Buyer (m / f / d)

Become part of SECO Northern Europe. At our locations in Hamburg, Wuppertal, Stuttgart, and Chennai / India, we are a team of around 190 employees. Together, we develop and produce state-of-the-art technological solutions, from miniaturized computers to fully customized integrated systems that combine hardware and software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all procurement activities for all components within the scope of development projects for new products until the start of series production.
  • Obtain quotes and conduct technical and commercial evaluations for all project components.
  • Conduct supplier selection for all project components and lead price negotiations.
  • Collaborate closely with project management and R&D regarding feasibility, effort, costs, and scheduling.
  • Manage product changes / re-designs (phase-in – phase-out).
  • Implement cost optimization measures during the product development process.

Requirements

  • A successfully completed degree in technical business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable field of study, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Professional experience in internationally oriented procurement of electronic and electromechanical components.
  • Ideally, familiarity with the markets, suppliers, and manufacturers of electronic components.
  • You are an experienced negotiator with a professional approach to internal and external stakeholders, and your communication skills are convincing. Additionally, you possess strong intercultural competence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Fluency in German and English, with additional language skills (e.g., Italian or Chinese) being a plus.
