Hauptaufgaben

Assists in providing technical guidance and practical assistance in phase of the Arts and Crafts activities to individuals and / or groups. Explains and demonstrates the proper and safe operation of power and hand tools to be used in the following crafts : Woodwork, leathercrafts, jewelry making, enameling and graphic art. The basic program may be enlarged to include model making, weaving, copper and other metal work, ceramics and associated arts and crafts as requested by crafts shop patrons. Gives blocks of instructions and demonstrations on the many possible techniques of rating wood, leather, metal, clay and other materials, the application of proper techniques in cutting and assembling various materials for best utilization. Explains corrective measures to be taken. Reads and assists patrons in reading patterns, drawings and blue prints, therefore promoting the understanding in accomplishing their projects. Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.

Stimulates interest by providing publicity in the form of posters, flyers, etc., conducts arts and crafts on a local level, displays articles produced in the shop and may arrange for conduct exhibitions of work of patrons or guided tours to special points of interest. Stimulates interest in the arts and crafts program and carries out experiments in new crafts fields to develop new crafts techniques and encourages patrons to do the same.

Is responsible for the safeguarding and condition of all tools, power tools, and other shop equipment in the Arts and Crafts Shop. Performs maintenance and minor repair on all equipment on hand. Maintains stock records pertaining to supplies on hand, in stock, materials used or sold, attendance and other pertinent data reflecting the activities of the shop. Conducts periodic and monthly inventories. Initiates requisitions for replenishment of both expendable and non-expendable equipment and supply items on an at least once per month basis. Incumbent accounts for all sales of reimbursable supplies and accounts for change fund. Safeguards cash intake, prepares deposit slip and daily deposits intake. Forwards deposit slips daily to districts Central Accounting Office. Prepare and submits a variety of reports for submission to Headquarters, i.e. Sales, Activity, Manpower, etc.

Performs other duties as assigned.

C-4A :

E&T Level I : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below.

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.

E&T Level II : 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below.

E&T Level III and above : No additional experience required.

Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.

Experience A : Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

  • Applicant must be in the possession of a valid driver's license class B.
  • German driver's license class C1 desired.
  • Office automation skills required.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :

English Language Proficiency level B2 AND German Language Proficiency level B2 required.

The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
