We are seeking a highly experienced and customer-orientated Global Head of Data and Analytics Management to join our executive leadership team and drive the steering of a large portfolio of business-enabling activities as well as strategic change and new capabilities deployment. The role is based in Munich (Germany).

Allianz Commercial is a trusted partner for a wide range of tailored commercial and specialty insurance solutions designed to protect MidCorp, Specialty and LargeCorp businesses. Formerly known as “AGCS” in the market, this new franchise is Allianz Group’s integrated global model for serving the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance segment.
The Team
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Global Head of Data and Analytics Management is a business and commercial role responsible for defining and disseminating a global data strategy to transform Allianz Commercial into a data-driven company. The role includes responsibilities for our Large-Corporate business (AGCS core) as well as oversight and directives for our Mid-Corporate businesses together with other Allianz Operating entities. You will lead a team of ~40 experts globally.

You will drive GenAI / AI / ML initiatives, enhancing solutions for significant business benefits. A strong data strategy will differentiate our company from competitors, providing unique insights and capabilities that drive business success.
Scope of responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing and enforcing the data strategy and transformation roadmap to maximize the value of data and information for Allianz Commercial.
The ability to communicate the value of data-driven initiatives to the executive leadership team and our Board of Management will be essential in securing the necessary investment.
A strong focus on enterprise-wide data governance will ensure the highest standards of data quality, integrity, security, and regulatory compliance. You drive trust in the data, algorithms and any output that are used within business functions. You also define and lead data governance, data lifecycle management and data sourcing.
Collaboration with senior leaders across all functions will be critical to identifying and prioritizing opportunities that enhance customer experiences and operational efficiencies.
You have a key role in defining best practices for selection of tools and analytics across the organization that assist with profiling, ingesting and managing the data, its analysis, manipulation and visualization.
Advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) are essential in unlocking the full potential of data, enhancing decision-making and driving business performance. A culture of AI / data literacy and innovation must be fostered, empowering teams at all levels to leverage AI / data as a strategic asset.
Keeping pace with emerging data technologies and industry trends will be essential to ensuring the organization remains competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. You are a respected thought leader in that domain.
A key part of your mandate will be to participate actively in the management team of the Allianz Commercial COO unit. Building strong, lasting relationships with stakeholders across the Allianz Group and the broader industry will be essential in fostering collaboration and driving results. You will work closely with IT and all business functions globally and regionally.
Your strong commitment to maximizing people’s potential will shine through by creating strategies that align with future talent needs, ensuring the CDO and wider organizations are ready for the challenges ahead. You are responsible for promotion of data centric thinking throughout the company, enabling faster adjustment and creation of new business models and business capabilities to meet market and customer demand.
Key required competencies
You should possess extensive senior leadership experience within an insurance company, with a profound understanding of data and analytics management, particularly for international complex project and product portfolios.
As a senior leader, you will demonstrate your ability to develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business objectives, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
A deep understanding of data science solutions, technologies and management is expected. Proficiency with programming tools and technologies, along with professional qualifications, is also necessary to drive proactive business success.
This role demands a growth mindset, You are open to transformation and innovation, actively adapting to change and spearheading initiatives that foster a culture of innovation. You align these efforts with evolving market trends and organizational goals.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to make data-driven decisions, are crucial. You are also capable of navigating the entire insurance value chain with a transversal mindset.
This role requires a proven track record in managing critical business scenarios across matrix organizations, including turnarounds, restructurings, and the redesign of highly complex business processes on a large scale. The successful candidate will have a history of driving value over time, consistently delivering results.
In addition your expertise in conflict management, particularly in arbitrage and independent decision-making, you must possess strong fact-based decisiveness to resolve issues swiftly and effectively. Your energy, stamina and extra gear makes the difference.
You are eager to demonstrate your outstanding organizational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently to diverse audiences. Your recognized interpersonal and people leadership skills, cultivating trust-based relationships and fostering a collaborative team culture, is well recognized by your peers. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in additional languages is advantageous. The role demands the ability to travel regionally and internationally as needed.
