Interim Ecologist
Client : Local Authority in southwest England
Remote working (office option if preferred)
3-month Contract (strong likelihood of extension)
Start : ASAP
Panoramic Associates is proud to be working with a Local Authority in the southwest of England to appoint an experienced Ecologist to support a critical period of planning activity, on an interim basis .
The Council is seeking a dedicated interim resource who can hit the ground running and support a high volume of planning applications with ecological input.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide expert advice on planning applications with a focus on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) , Nutrient Neutrality , and phosphate mitigation
Collaborate closely with planning case officers and external stakeholders
Lead and manage the ecological assessment and screening process for a high volume of applications
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidance, offering pragmatic and sustainable solutions
Requirements :
Proven Local Authority experience in a similar ecological role
Strong working knowledge of BNG , Nutrient Neutrality , and the planning process
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across multiple teams
Confidence in handling large caseloads independently
