The Senior IPCounsel (Biochemical Assays, Dyes, Reagents, and ImagingTechnologies) is responsible for developing and implementing an IPstrategy for our portfolio of Biochemical Assays, Dyes, Reagents,and Imaging Technologies. This role involves preparing (mainlyusing outside counsel), maintaining, defending, and enforcingintellectual property rights for the Life Science ResearchDivision. The position significantly impacts the organization byactively participating in product definition and development basedon competitive intelligence, and by conducting due diligence forthe acquisition of new companies to strengthen market position anddefend against third-partychallenges.

This positionreports to the Chief IP Counsel and is part of the IP department l ocated in Wetzlar or Mannheimand will be an on-siterole.

Inthis role, you will have the opportunityto :

• Develop and implement acomprehensive IP strategy for the Life Science ResearchDivision.
• Prepare mainly (using outsidecounsel), maintain, and enforce patents in the areas of assays,dyes, reagents, and related imagingtechnologies.
• Provide strategic input duringproduct development and definitionphases.
• Conduct competitive intelligence toinform IP strategy and productdevelopment.
• Lead due diligence efforts duringthe acquisition of new companies.
• Defendagainst potential third-party IP challenges to protect thecompany’s market position.
• Negotiate, draft,and review IP-related agreements, including licensing andcollaborationagreements.

Ability to travel up to15%, including overnightstays
