Business Unit Port Services a critical part of Business Area Port Solutions is a known and trusted service partner within port industry. Port Services offers a wide range of services both internally and externally. Technical Support team within Port Services provides global support to internal frontline units as well as directly to customers for complex retrofits and modernizations requiring technical expertise. Technical Support team works closely with Technology organisation and Equipment Engineering and contributes greatly to development maintenance and management of the Port Service product portfolio.

To further strengthen our technical support capacity we are now seeking to hire Design & Commissioning Engineer Electrics who will support offer engineering electrical design and commissioning activities. In this role you will work closely with our customers as well as collaborate with colleagues from frontline units and other BUs / BLs as you will be facilitating activities that require input by different stakeholders from various competence areas.

Your key responsibilities :

• Delivering electrical designs : designing implementing and approving conceptual (electrical) solutions for port technology systems;
• Participating in commissioning and acceptance tests for STS RTG RMG and slewing cranes;
• Supporting offer engineering and contributing to drafting of specifications / plans for modernisations and retrofits of harbour cranes (incl. technical feasibility risk analysis solution proposals calculations);
• Managing documentation related to offer engineering and other planning activities;

Ensuring detailed hardware and software engineering for retrofits and for modernisation projects function expansions and energysaving solutions in close cooperation with other teams

Consultation regarding modernisation concepts related to the different crane generations and variants and sharing related technical info and knowledge to subsidiaries and representatives

Running training for both internal and external stakeholders.

What we expect from you

For this role we are looking for a person who has Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical engineering and has previous professional background from electrics and electrical design. We expect you to have several years experience in development and programming of software for drives and PLC / CMS. Ideally you have experience from heavy machinery knowledge of crane technology is highly beneficial.

Its also important that you are a strong team player with good intercultural competence and you are focused on finding solutions that are beneficial to the customer. Fluency in both English and German is a must.

This role requires business travel.
