Description
In this role you will be supporting our global technology team as R&D Engineer focusing on development of Transformer technology in the field of electromagnetics : magnetic stray flux effects and load losses. Your work will contribute to maintenance, verification, and introduction of new rules for Power Transformer Hitachi Energy standards. This will include improvements of our design and simulation software and expert support for our design engineers world-wide. The position allows to grow in related areas like the FE simulation of losses and forces.
Responsibilities
Research and definition of best-in-class calculation models supporting flux management and transformer loading
Focusing in development area of Transformer Load Losses and Eddy losses, current distribution and impedances
Support and guidance in understanding of Current Harmonics effect on windings and losses
Support in Short-Circuit current and forces calculations
Support of 3D FEM simulations of losses and forces
Background
Successful study (Bachelor, Masters or PhD) in Electrical Engineering
Skills in field simulations (2D and 3D electromagnetic simulations) will be an advantage
Willing to work in remote and diverse environment and travel when needed
Good skills in English
Communication skills for sharing knowledge and occasional customer interactions
Experience with programming and involvement in design tools creation will be an advantage
Experience with design and / or testing of power transformers will be an advantage
Experience in electric circuit modeling will be an advantage
