Associate Engineer - Master Data Management (Relito)

Introduction to role :

Are you ready to make enterprise data trusted, discoverable, and usable so teams across research, development, and commercialization can move faster for patients? As an Associate Engineer focused on Master Data Management, you will ensure the reliability and flow of core data that underpins decisions across the company.

You will join a collaborative, outcomes-driven team that partners across functions and with external experts to connect systems and people. Your work will keep our Reltio platform resilient, our validations effective, and our consumption layers responsive. Do you enjoy solving real production issues one hour and optimizing lifecycle actions the next? Here, you will see the direct impact of your engineering on how quickly we deliver life-changing medicines.

Accountabilities :

Incident and Problem Resolution : Lead the support landscape for Enterprise Master Data, triaging, resolving, and preventing issues raised by data stewards and master data consumers to maintain trust in critical records.

Reltio Validation Engineering (Java LCA) : Manage and enhance Java LCA code to enforce robust validations, improving data quality and compliance at scale.

Configuration Change Enablement : Implement and support change requests for existing Reltio configurations, balancing speed with stability and governance.

API and Data Asset Support : Support consumption layer APIs built on MuleSoft and the data asset layer on Snowflake, ensuring clean, performant data flows into downstream analytics and applications.

CI / CD and Release Reliability : Maintain and evolve the CI / CD codebase for the Master Data layer to improve release cadence, test automation, and deployment quality.

Essential Skills / Experience :

Manage the support landscape of Enterprise Master Data, providing resolution to incidents and problems reported by business users including data stewards and master data consumers.

Manage Reltio - Java LCA (Lifecycle Actions) code that enforces validations on master data

Support CICD (Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment) codebase of Master Data layer.

Desirable Skills / Experience :

Hands-on Java development for Reltio LCA and custom validations

Experience with Reltio data model design, survivorship rules, and match / merge tuning

Designing, building, and supporting MuleSoft APIs and integration patterns

Snowflake SQL, performance optimization, and secure data sharing

CI / CD with Git-based workflows and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins, plus automated testing for data pipelines

Production support at scale, including root-cause analysis, monitoring / observability, and incident postmortems

Understanding of data governance, data stewardship workflows, and data quality metrics

Ability to collaborate with multi-functional stakeholders and external partners to drive adoption and outcomes

When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to

inspire life-changing medicines. In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge

perceptions. That's why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office. But that

doesn't mean we're not flexible. We balance the expectation of being in the office while respecting individual

flexibility. Join us in our unique and ambitious world.

Why AstraZeneca :

Join a diverse group of technologists who turn data into meaningful action for patients. We combine leading digital platforms with modern ways of working, bringing unexpected teams together early to set direction and scale solutions across the enterprise. With strong backing to experiment and learn—whether that’s refining Reltio validations, evolving our API ecosystem, or improving CI / CD—you will stretch your engineering skills, see your work power smarter decisions every day, and help accelerate the development of life-changing medicines. We value kindness alongside ambition and rally around real outcomes that matter.

Call to Action :

If you’re ready to own critical data flows, sharpen your engineering craft, and help turn trusted master data into faster patient impact, take the next step and apply today.

AstraZeneca embraces diversity and equality of opportunity. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse team representing all backgrounds, with as wide a range of perspectives as possible, and harnessing industry-leading skills. We believe that the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be. We welcome and consider applications to join our team from all qualified candidates, regardless of their characteristics. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations on non-discrimination in employment (and recruitment), as well as work authorization and employment eligibility verification requirements.
