You will strengthen the working group "New Genomic Techniques" in plants and the interdisciplinary research at the Institute for Biosafety in Plant Biotechnology as a researcher (postdoc). This includes in particular the research and evaluation of the use of advanced methods of gene editing and their potential areas of application, interdisciplinary networking, participation in scientific statements and advice within the governmental tasks of the JKI.
Activities and responsibilities You will
- plan, organise and implement investigations employing new genomic techniques (genome editing) in plants;
- investigate and evaluate the potential applications and impacts of new genomic techniques;
- write scientific publications, research reports and present the results;
- provide guidance to technical staff, Ph.D. students, etc;
- provide statements on applications for the deliberate release of GMOs in accordance with the German Genetic Engineering Act (GenTG).
