About the Role As a Accounting Assistant , you will provide crucial support to the Senior Operations Manager Europe and the Director, Worldwide Operations in handling accounting and related tasks for Eclipse Foundation Europe GmbH.
Your role will ensure smooth financial operations, compliance with tax regulations, and efficient management of accounting processes.
This is a part-time role with the potential to become full-time.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Management.
Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices.
Review and verify travel expense reports for European employees.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statement s for Eclipse Foundation Europe GmbH (EFE GmbH).
Handle accounting tasks related to the tax office, ensuring compliance.
Address and resolve any queries regarding monthly and annual financial statements with tax authorities.
Assist in managing legal process documentation.
Reconcile Deutsche Bundesbank reports.
As a member of the operations team, help identify and implement process improvements.
Serve as liaison, when appropriate, in the coordination of activities with external accountants and audits.
European & Research Project Accounting Oversee accounting processes and reporting for research projects.
Administer financial aspects of research projects.
Manage tax-related accounting for research projects.
Provide support to the Research team.
Required : 2+ years of experience in accounting or administrative support.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Proficiency in assisting with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Fluent in German, with a good command of written and spoken English (Eclipse Foundation Europe GmbH conducts its business in English but reports its financials in German).
Preferred : Experience using systems such as DATEV, Google Sheets.
Basic knowledge of tax law.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Education & Location Apprenticeship in accounting, office administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Remote position based in Germany, with preference to those in the Frankfurt or Darmstadt area.
