Primary Function of Position

The Lab Engineer for Optical Characterization has a deep knowledge in technical optics and is experience in analyzing and characterizing complex optical systems. The candidate is responsible for the development of optical measurement equipment for the lab and support other teams by developing measurement equipment for the production. He / She identifies new optical technologies to improve vison possibilities for minimally invasive robotassisted surgery.

Essential Job Duties

• Develops and validates new measurement methods for optical laboratory setups.
• Analyze and validate new endoscopic systems.
• Support development of optical and optoelectrical tests to qualify and verify quality and performance of microoptical systems together with international partners (external and internal).
• Must be able to communicate effectively and accurately (written and oral) across all levels and functions including presenting to a technical audience.
• Identify new optical technologies.
