The Department of Cellular Biophysics (Prof. Dr. Joachim P. Spatz) is looking for a
technical assistant (BTA) or laboratory technician in the field of molecular biology
for the Stuttgart location (later Heilbronn location).
- Direct collaboration with PhD students and postdocs on cutting edge research
- Recombinant protein purification and protein isolation from natural resources, e.g. red blood cells
- Cloning, amplification and transfection of plasmids
- Support the organization of biochemistry and cell culture laboratories
- Support the management of research and data infrastructure
- Completed vocational training as a technical assistant (BTA), laboratory technician in molecular biology, biochemistry or biotechnology, or comparable scientific training
- Practical laboratory experience in biochemistry, cell culture, and protein purification
- Preferably experience with the planning and execution of cloning procedures
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, high flexibility, and team spirit
- Independent, goal-oriented, analytical way of working
- Very good written and oral communication skills in German and English
- Willingness to acquire knowledge in new areas and to contribute creatively to the further development of the research focus
- An employment contract for an initial period of two years with the possibility of extension
