As a RAM Engineer , you are a member of a team whose expertise is highly valued by Alstom and our customers. You ensure that our complex and innovative transport systems can be operated efficient, safe, and reliable every day. The role of a RAM Engineer is interdisciplinary and transversal by essence. You work on a project from the tender phase to its delivery, while partnering with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
You will report to the Head of RAMS department and essentially take on the following tasks :
- Investigations and evaluations of the reliability of rail vehicles and their electrical and mechanical components from the offer to approval and to the acceptance of contractual defined targets by the customer, respectively
- Execution of reliability studies
- Participation in the creation of respectively analysis of FMECAs
- Ensuring the achievement of objectives ( reliability-related review of documentation created within the department, reliability-related analysis of supplier documentation such as brakes, doors, drives
- Comparison of the requirements with data available on the vehicle side to identify possible reference projects
- Determination of deviations including evaluation and adaptation or modification of certain reliability-related features
- Coordination and consultation with the project and incorporate additional or modified information and data if necessary; requesting the technical review of documentation created at vehicle level
- Support in the creation, coordination, and execution of work packages considering the QCD targets of the projects
- Ensuring compliance with the Group's RAMS guidelines, as well as normative and legal requirements
- Cross-departmental and cross-site cooperation with the areas of system engineering, design, electromechanical integration, verification, validation, quality assurance and homologation as well as maintenance / service
- Participation in analyzes of the availability and maintainability of rail vehicles and their electrical and mechanical components
- Participation in determining the life cycle costs (LCC calculation and forecasts)
- Participation in vehicle offers, optimization of vehicle concepts, requirements and specifications for vehicles, assemblies, and components
