We are looking for an experienced and energetic Engineering Manager with a strong background in Java development to join our Product & Engineering team in Berlin. At MODIFI you will have the unique opportunity to help change the way Exporters and Importers are doing business around the world by providing unparalleled tools and services to our customers.

Description

  • Lead a crossfunctional Squad of Java and JavaScript Engineers helping them to become selforganised agile and autonomous
  • Be responsible for the people within the Squad as well as for the delivery
  • Contribute to the success of your Squad with handson coding in Java and Spring Boot
  • Define objectives track the progress and support every Engineer in achieving them
  • Coach and mentor the Engineers by providing regular feedback
  • Establish a vital Engineering culture
  • Teamup with other Engineering Managers and the Senior Product Leadership
  • Work closely with the CTO and the Founders of the company

Requirements

  • A Software Engineering professional with at least 2 years of experience in a relevant Leadership role (such as Engineering Manager or VP Engineering with People responsibility)
  • Responsibility for the people in your team as well as a bias towards contributing handson by writing code
  • A proven track record in building bestinclass software systems
  • Expert in Java and related technologies such as Spring Boot relational databases and Kafka
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript (knowledge in frameworks such as React.js or Angular is a plus)
  • An emphatic and inspirational Leader
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to work in a structured way
  • An effective problem solver with a strong Business sense
  • Eager to work in a fastpaced faulttolerant agile environment with crossfunctional teams
  • Fluent in English
