has a full time VDI Engineer opportunity available based in Germany.

Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Secret Security clearance, be eligible for NATO Indoctrination and meet TESA accreditation requirements.

• ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES  Design, deploy, and manage Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and VMware Horizon environments.  Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server systems, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.  Optimize VDI performance by monitoring resource utilization and implementing best practices for high availability and scalability.  Configure and manage VDI infrastructure components, including hypervisors, virtual machines, and storage.  Ensure the security of VDI environments through access controls, patch management, and endpoint protection solutions.  Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting languages such as PowerShell.  Support VDI users by diagnosing and resolving technical issues and providing training as needed.  Maintain up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures.  Collaborate with OPS teams to integrate VDI solutions with existing infrastructure and to implement new technologies.  Stay updated on VDI, Citrix, VMware, and Windows Server technologies to recommend and implement improvements.  Required QUALIFICATIONS  Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.  Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).  Relevant certifications such as Citrix Certified Professional - Virtualization (CCP-V), VMware Certified Professional - Desktop Management (VCP-DTM), and Microsoft Certified : Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate are highly preferred.  Minimum 5-10 years of experience managing Citrix, VMware, and Windows Server environments.  Proven expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp / XenDesktop) and VMware Horizon solutions.  Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration (2016 / 2019 / 2022), including Active Directory, Group Policy, and user management.  Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and TCP / IP.  Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and management.  DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS  Familiarity with storage technologies and their integration with VDI systems (e.g., SAN, NAS).  Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.  Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication.  Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.  Experience with GPU acceleration technologies such as NVIDIA GRID.  Knowledge of cloud-hosted VDI solutions (e.g., Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix Cloud).  Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and their application in VDI environments.  TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS  In rare / some occasions, overnight travel may be required.   Active Passport in support of OCONUS travel and / or living requirements.  PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS  Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY) / Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements.  If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists applicable current vaccination requirements by location.  Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.  Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.  May be required to travel short distances to offices / conference rooms and buildings on site.    BACKGROUND CHECKS  Please note that any offer of employment is contingent upon a background investigation.  In connection with working on certain federal contracts, a drug screen may also be required.  BENEFITS AND PERKS  Cambridge International Systems is committed to investing in our employees and their future by providing them with competitive compensation, career development opportunities, comfortable working conditions, and a comprehensive benefits package, some of which are listed below :   Medical, dental, vision, Life / AD&D / STD / LTD insurance  401(k) matching and immediate vesting  Paid time off and holidays  Generous tuition & training assistance program  Relocation assistance  Sign-on bonuses  Referral bonuses  Performance-based bonuses  Community involvement & outreach  Wellness program  Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  Tickets at Work  Refer to a friend  If you know someone who may be interested, please share this posting.  We are a growing team and there may be more opportunities like this one here at Cambridge International Systems!  Depending on the recruiting difficulty of the position and other factors, successful referrals resulting in a hire may qualify for a referral bonus.
