In order to strengthen our team at Guardian Flachglas GmbH in Thalheim, we are looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer (m / f / d) in permanent employment at the earliest possible date :

Your Job

  • Build capability and competence within the Operational teams to identify and control EHS risks.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate EHS programs and operational best practices including but not limited to Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Respiratory health and Energy Control.
  • Contact with authorities about environmental development
  • Sustain and improve ATEX and fire protection systems and processes
  • Support line management in behavior-based safety initiatives.
  • Develop EH&S systems to manage the plant’s compliance obligations and provide assurance that all personnel have the necessary competence to remain in compliance with EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Engaging with plant leadership on incident investigations ensuring root-cause analysis occurs, proper follow-up is taken, and proper incident notification (knowledge –sharing) occurs.
  • To track safety and training statistics within the plant and prepare reports to management as needed.
  • Actively promote the Guiding Principles and Principled Based Management® culture across the organization with a primary focus on compliance, hazard awareness, incident prevention, risk management, open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide a visible presence and build effective working relationships with the Operational teams

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Successfully completed engineering studies (Bachelor and / or Master Degree) with an emphasis in environmental science, occupational health and safety or similar education
  • Relevant professional experience in the environmental, health and safety of a manufacturing company
  • Excellent knowledge of (German) environmental, health and safety regulations and standards
  • Experience of implementation and development of occupational safety and health protection programs as well as in environmental management and corporate environmental protection
  • High proficiency of both spoken and written English and German
  • Competent user of MS-Office applications
  • High level of commitment and initiative
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including verbal, written, and negotiation skills) with a strong sense of service and support
