A logistics company is currently recruiting a Business Controller to work in their operations. In this role, you will oversee and manage financial activities, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. Acting as a liaison between Operations, Accounting, and Management, you will provide detailed financial reports, forecasts, and analyses.

WORK TYPE : Office-based

VISA SUPPORT : No

BENEFITS : 24 days of Holiday, Travel Allowance

TYPE : Full-time, initially 1-year contract (potential for extension)

WORKING HOURS : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

SALARY : Between €5,000 to €6,000 gross per month

START : ASAP

LOCATION : West Amsterdam, The Netherlands (with the possibility to work from home 1 day per week)

Business Controller Main Responsibilities :

Analyze financial performance and compare it with business goals.
Provide recommendations for cost management.
Conduct profitability and performance analysis for branches.
Monitor key financial metrics such as margins and variances between budgeted and actual performance.
Reconcile monthly performance reports with accounting information.
Prepare monthly management reports for branch managers and senior management.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.

Business Controller Ideal Candidate :

HBO degree in finance or accounting.
At least five years of relevant working experience, particularly in accounting and logistics.
Knowledge of logistics and freight forwarding operations is advantageous
Strong knowledge of the General Ledger processes and reconciliations
Proven ability to analyze complex financial data
Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial systems
Business-level fluency in English is required
Dutch language ability would be advantageous
