Aignostics GmbHBerlin, Berlin, DEWhy us?
We believe that AI has the potential to revolutionize how cancer and other complex diseases are diagnosed and treated. We also believe that AI is a tool, not an identity – without access to high quality data and a scientifically rigorous, transparent approach to model development, AI is just a buzzword. That’s where we come in.
Aignostics is a spin-off from one of Europe's largest and most prestigious university hospitals (Charité), with employees in Berlin and New York. We have received over $50M in funding from leading investors and are a growing team of over 100 interdisciplinary professionals. We work with academic partners as well as leading global life sciences companies.
We’re seeking a self-driven, organized and enthusiastic pathologist to join our team in Berlin either part time or full time. In this role, you will be working directly with our team and partners, i.e., global pharma companies, biotechs, and academia, to support the execution of client and in-house scientific research programs. You will work closely with our AI model development teams, primarily in the areas of tissue-based translational research. You will accompany complex scientific challenges of various backgrounds from project scoping, over cohort and tissue assembly, AI model strategy planning, and development as well as result presentation to various stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will support a diverse team of biologists, machine learning engineers, data scientists, regulatory experts, and business experts with your pathology expertise to develop meaningful and clinically relevant AI applications for a broad range of scientific projects.
We are looking for candidates at an intermediate to advanced stage of their anatomical pathology training or with board-certification. A wide knowledge across different organs and pathology disciplines, including immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology is crucial. Additionally, skills in conducting high-quality translational research with a focus on oncological or inflammatory diseases is important. Experiences in digital image analysis, multiplex immunofluorescence and AI model development for histological questions would be a plus. Strong preference will be given to candidates that can be based in the Berlin area.
This is a unique opportunity to join a fun, diverse and fast-growing team to work on problems that really matter, while being embedded in an exciting mix of scientific research and medical device development.
At Aignostics we believe that fighting cancer is a concern for people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures. We value and celebrate diversity and inclusion and are committed to offer equal employment and promotion opportunities for all applicants and employees. Applicants will be considered regardless of their age, disability, ethnicity, race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion or any other characteristics. We thrive through collaboration and the more inclusive we are, the better our work will be.
