Dunia InnovationsLudwigsfelde, DEIntro Your Role In the rapidly advancing field of material science, the development of mixed-metal oxides (MMOs) as electroactive materials holds significant potential for applications ranging from energy storage to sensors and catalysis. Traditional methods of material discovery and optimization are often time-consuming and resource-intensive. Material informatics, which leverages data science and machine learning techniques, offers a revolutionary approach to accelerate this process by identifying novel descriptors and creating comprehensive databases. At Dunia, we are at the forefront of integrating material informatics to enhance the discovery and development of MMOs with exceptional electroactive properties. This internship is a unique opportunity to contribute to workflow automation, machine learning-driven force field development, and database structuring aimed at accelerating MMO discovery. By leveraging physics-informed AI and laboratory robotics to advance electrochemistry, catalysis, and thin-film technologies, we develop solutions that deliver tangible environmental impact and economic value. At Dunia, you’ll work at the edge of technology, bringing game-changing products to life in a collaborative and ambitious environment. Tasks Automate Material Discovery : Design and implement automated pipelines for MMO data generation and screening, streamlining computational and experimental workflows. Build and Structure Databases : Develop structured and scalable databases to store and analyze computational and experimental data, while identifying new data-driven material descriptors for MMOs. Advance Machine Learning for Materials : Assist in training and validating machine learning-based force fields for MMO simulations and apply statistical and AI techniques to extract trends, build predictive models, and screen new MMO compositions efficiently. Collaborate Across Disciplines : Work closely with material scientists, data scientists, and engineers to integrate informatics approaches into R&D projects, ensuring a seamless fusion of data-driven insights with experimental validation. Document and Communicate Findings : Structure and present methodologies and results in clear reports and presentations to support internal research and potential publications. Requirements Passionate About Materials Informatics : You are motivated by the intersection of computational materials science, machine learning, and workflow automation. Currently Pursuing a Master or PhD Degree : You are enrolled in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Computational Science, Data Science, or a related field. Technically Skilled : You have experience in computational materials modeling (e.g., DFT, force field simulations), machine learning techniques for materials science (e.g., regression models, neural networks, active learning), and workflow automation tools (e.g., ASE, AiiDA, FireWorks, Nextflow). Proficient in Programming : You are comfortable with Python and / or other programming languages commonly used in scientific computing. Familiar with Electrochemistry and Catalysis (a Plus) : Basic knowledge of electrochemical and catalytic materials is an advantage but not a requirement.
