Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
The post-doctoral researcher at Universität Hamburg will be a connecting link between chemically (UHH) and methodologically (DESY, KTH) driven efforts to develop Stereoscopic X-Ray Vision to Investigate Nanoparticles. The postdoc will focus on implementing and testing the newly developed experimental in-situ environment and investigating nanomaterials. To this end he / she will write the beamtime application, coordinate the beamtime preparation and will perform the in-situ experiments jointly with the team at KTH, UHH and DESY. Additionally, he / she will apply the numerical algorithms required to combine multi-beam and multi-slicing ptychography.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field plus doctorate.
She / he will be ideally chemist, physicist or nanoscientist by trainee and advanced user of scanning coherent X-Ray microscopy (ptychography). Further requirements : Good understanding of solid-state physics, proven experience with scanning X-Ray microscopy methods, excellent programming skills (Phyton, C++, CUDA) good communication and self-management skills. PHD in the relevant field and experience with inorganic nanoparticle synthesis in solution and their characterization is a strong plus. Excellent communication in English is necessary.
