Head of DevOps

Position Type : Permanent / Full Time

Office Location : Würzburg, Germany

Type of Client : Inhouse / End User

Onsite / Remote : Hybrid (2 days remote / 3 days onsite)

Min Exp : 6 years

Essential Experience

The applying professional must have :

  • A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT Experience
  • Experience in DevOps or comparable position
  • Experience in a Team Leadership and / or Project Management Capacity
  • Stakeholder Management
  • German and English Language (B2 Min)
  • Open to Travel (Germany, Poland and Czech Republic) 2 times per month

Optional Experience

While not essential, some ‘cherry on top’ experience :

  • Programming knowledge in .NET, C#, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Shell, Python etc

    Our client, who are a global production company are currently recruiting for an Head of DevOps to lead the team in the design and implementation of the entire software development lifecycle, be responsible for and manage strategic projects as well as the continuous improvement of the department. You will lead a Team of 4 Direct Reports and another 20 indirect and this role is a completely hands off role

    This position is a hybrid based role in Würzburg, Germany with 2 days working remotely and 3 days working in the office.

    Some of the responsibilities for both internal and external customers will include :

  • Follow application and platform operations, evaluating and solving operational disruptions
  • Creation and application of methodologies from DevOps to simplify workflows and procedures
  • As the Lead, take on the responsibilities of Product Owner, oversee the everyday functioning of the DevOps applications, and make necessary adjustments and enhancements.
  • In charge of troubleshooting and actively participating in problem management to identify an effective long-term fix
  • In pilot projects, you evaluate the newest IT trends and technology.
  • Optimize existing CI / CD pipelines and implement new ones
  • Design and management of cloud architectures and infrastructures (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Using monitoring tools to keep an eye on system performance
  • Support for software development procedures, such as provisioning cloud-based resources and establishing and maintaining build and release procedures
  • Assess developed ideas and solutions for security components;
  • Travelling to national and international sites (across Germany, France, Switzerland, UK, US, Poland) 20% Per Year
