Start in our team

We are looking for professional and competent support to start  as soon as possible ,  limited  for 3 years.

What we offer :

  • The salary will be based on the German E 13 TV-L scale (75%), if terms and conditions under collective bargaining law are fulfilled

  • Teaching responsibilities include supervision of master and graduate students

About the position :

We are interested in the fundamental principles underlying regulation and function of cellular proteases and proteins.

To pursue these questions, we work with cellular and mouse model systems. Of specific interest are the disintegrin-like metalloproteases ADAM10 and ADAM17, which are involved in the release of cellular substrates with important roles in development and disease (e.g. cancer, arthritis, and atherosclerosis). Cell membrane properties (e.g. phospholipid asymmetry) play a central role in regulating ADAM function. This aspect will be addressed in more detail in the future. Main topics of the project are :

  • Analysis of the plasma membrane as regulator of transmembrane proteases
  • Analysis of proteins that influence plasma membrane properties
  • In addition, we plan to start a new project addressing the roles of scramblases and ADAMs in cancer.
  • Your profile :

  • You should hold a phD in the area of life sciences with a sound background in cell and molecular biology. Ideally, you have working experience with cell culture systems, microscopy, and flow cytometry.
  • We seek a candidate with strong laboratory, analytical, and communication skills who is enthusiastic but yet critical, motivated, and reliable. A command of German and English is mandatory.
  • Please submit your application

  • until  15.07.2024 , indicating the reference number  23472 .
  • Application : Applications in English or German should include a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, a list of publications, brief statement of research experiences, a list of three potential references, and full academic record (copies of degree certificates).
