What awaits you :

Mabanaft is a traditional middle distillates energy trading company with a large regional presence in Germany. The company is on an exciting path with new business activities emerging within Ammonia, Power, Gas and Emissions trading. We are currently looking for an experienced energy professional within Product Control to enable us to deliver on the new activities. The role will be exciting, as there are a lot of new activities launching in 2024 but offers the opportunity to make a visible impact on the organization.

You would have to be skilled in product control reporting and PNL explanations together with a deep understanding of the traded products and commodities. Independence and maturity on decision making is vital as the environment is fast paced with constant interaction with Front Office, Risk and IT.

Your tasks in a nutshell :

Daily Reconciliation of Physical and Derivative Trades.

Calculation, monitoring and reporting of daily positions.

Daily clearing of exchange trades.

Preparing daily / monthly Profit and Loss for the new activities and providing an explanation of the results.

Assist in developing and ensuring robust controls across the ETRM systems.

Participate and drive projects to develop and streamline the ETRM system for the new activities.

Implement best practices in terms reporting.

Support the business to troubleshoot issues.

Manage biofuels exposure reporting and German GHG savings.

What helps you to fulfil this role :

University Degree in Finance / Economics / Engineering or equivalent experience.

Strong working knowledge of financial markets and instruments.

Commodity experience within liquid fuels is required (middle distillates / light ends).

Commodity experience within biofuels will be an advantage.

Light experience with power / gas will also be relevant.

VBA / SQL / Python / PowerBI programming languages advantageous.

• 2-3 years’ experience working with an ETRM system beneficial.
