The Chair of Organisation, Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (Professor Carolin Häussler) at the University of Passau invites applications for the position of

Doctoral Researcher (Ph.D. Candidate)

to start at the earliest convenience, but no later than 1 December 2025.

This is an 0.75 full-time equivalent position, based on a fixed-term contract with a term of three years, with the option of renewal. Remuneration is in accordance with pay grade E13 of the German public-sector collective agreement, TV-L; the salary step depends on your qualifications and experience.

What we seek

You are a highly motivated masterâs graduate with an excellent degree in business administration, economics, information systems or a field of study related to our research interests. Preliminary part-time employment up to 0.5 full-time equivalent in line with pay grade E12 TV-L may be arranged temporarily for candidates who have not yet completed their masterâs thesis. Excellent analytical skills and a keen interest in core research topics of the chair such as how science leads to innovation, innovation in the data economy, governance of open and collaborative organisations and / or strategic alliances.

Willingness to approach complex practical problems with analytical (quantitative-empirical) methods and to learn or deepen new methods. Initial experience with empirical-quantitative research methods would be advantageous, as your work will draw on quantitative firm- or individual-level data.

Ability to work in a team, open-mindedness, and the motivation to work on a research project independently, diligently and under pressure.

Excellent spoken and written English language skills.

Knowledge of German would be advantageous but is not a requirement
