The client :

Part of an international group, our client is a European market leader manufacturing customised products for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace and medical.

The role :

  • Fully responsible for leading the factory including all production related departments and activities : production, health, safety & environment, quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics.
  • Forming part of the senior leadership team.
  • Leadership of all local production and logistics personnel including staff coordination.
  • Collaboration and support in budget preparation and control, as well as execution of internal controlling tasks : E.g. reviewing production records to determine whether employees meet their performance expectations and coordinating with local management to enforce changes to plant budgets or safety procedures
  • Coordination and control of internal and external service providers.
  • Accountable for achieving budget, performance, sustainability & cost targets of the plant / site.
  • Responsibility for (strategic) future development of the plant / site in coordination with the Chief Operations Officer.
  • Staffing and training of key production employees.
  • Working with an active and supportive union participation.

The person :

  • University education in Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading teams inside production departments.
  • Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Collaborative, approachable, and mentoring people leadership skills.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Team-focused.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to deal.
  • Accountable, leads by example and convincing style.
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Ability to work well with trade unions and works councils
